The TOCKET Family Tree
Notes for James Marvin Eaves
James Marvin Eaves (WW-II) is the son of Pierson Lee Eaves 1st (WWI) and Mary Octavia Tomlinson. On May 22, 1943, while being interviewed for a job at the Personnel Office at Middletown Air Depot, Elsie met another interviewee, Jim Eaves from Alabama. They smiled at each other and it was love at first sight for both of them. They left Middletown Air Depot together to have lunch and a wonderful day getting to know each other. They saw each other as often as possible after that day and became engaged on June 15, 1943. A few weeks later Jim's mother came to meet Elsie and she very definitely approved of the match!. Jim and Elsie were married on April 18, 1945, the day before he graduated as a Bombardier/Navigator in the US Army Air Corps and became a 2nd Lt. The marriage is recorded in Childress County Marriage Records Vol.9, page 327
