Notes for Jacob Kauffman
Jacob Kauffman Sr. (RW) was born circa 1741 in Oley Valley, Lancaster Co., PA. He was the son of David Kauffman and Veronica (?). Jacob Kauffman Sr. (RW) married Hannah Hill, daughter of Jacob Hill, circa 1756 in Oley Valley, Lancaster Co., PA. He served in the First Battalion, Fourth Company, from Oley Township, Berks County, under Colonel Daniel Hunter, during the Revolutionary War. He sold George Washington beef and cotton and allowed an encampment of Washington's soldiers in his orchard, north of his homestead. Jacob Kauffman Sr. (RW) was buried after 29 September 1804 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA. He died after 29 September 1804 in Oley Township, Berks Co., PA
